Hi everyone! My name is Casey Herrmann and I’m a senior from Richmond, VA. I’m a Marketing (just switched from Finance) and Government double major. The topics of government and policy have always intrigued me – I love subjects that are fueled by passion, opinions, and even some discomfort. My dad and I have gotten into plenty of political debates over the years, and even if I’m wrong, I love to learn new things, form arguments, and get fired up about what I believe in.
After my freshman year, I decided that I should probably pair something with my Government major, and so on a whim, I applied to the business school. I absolutely loved BUAD 311, but when it was time to declare my other major, I ignored my gut feeling and chose Finance instead. Fast forward one semester and here I am – a newly declared Marketing major. I wish I would’ve had my epiphany sooner, but I’m happy I landed where I did nonetheless!
I have no clue what exactly I want to do after graduation in May (and will look like I just saw a ghost if you ask me), but I’m potentially interested in brand management or working for a political news platform. This summer, I was a Marketing Summer Analyst at Cognosante, a healthcare consulting and IT company up in Falls Church, VA. I had an amazing time and my favorite part was working on an intern project in Cognosante’s design thinking lab.
On campus, I’m a Tribe Ambassador for the Admissions Office, a member of Kappa Delta, and a marketing intern for the Student Engagement and Leadership Department. Some hobbies that I enjoy/want to continue to get better at are photography, videography, and running.
And here’s a fun fact, since an introduction isn’t complete without one: I’ve never drank a cup of coffee!
